Our Fees

Our fees are all listed on Referrals & Fees | Ōtautahi Clinic Mental Health Services to avoid you having to guess! These fees all include GST and if additional costs might be required our doctors would try to identify this at the triage process and let you know.

Self-Referrals

We accept self-referrals for ADHD assessments, but only in adults over 18. We require a GP or therapist referral for any other concerns.

To check if it is clinically safe for you to self-refer, and to fill out the self-referral form, please see this page Self-referrals for Adult ADHD | Ōtautahi Clinic.

We have to follow this process as there are a lot of factors that go into whether ADHD is diagnosed and whether it is safe for you to have medications, and if we can get enough information for triaging it may reduce the chances of you attending your review and us not being able to provide the right kind of help you need.

Once you have submitted, we will triage within 3 working days and send you information about how to get booked in.

Our wait-times

We know how stressful it is to wait for an assessment. We usually try to keep our wait list to 4-6 weeks. For the most up-to-date information on when the next appointment is, you can check below.

 Our Preview Calendar

Making an appointment after being referred

You don't need to contact us directly to make a booking. If your GP or therapist has emailed or sent a referral to us electronically, we will endeavour to triage this within 3 working days and then you will receive an email and text about how to get booked in. If you have not heard back after this time, the best way to check if we have received your referral is to email info@otautahiclinic.co.nz or to have a discussion with whomever referred you, to check that they have actually sent it.

Insurance

We are a Southern Cross Easy-Claim partner. This means that we can claim on your behalf on the day of the appointment if you are eligible for insurance cover. We will then invoice you the remaining difference.

Southern Cross will usually cover anywhere between $600 to $1500 dollars but this is dependent on your cover. We always recommend that you double check with Southern Cross yourself prior to booking to be clear about whether your claim will be approved.

All our psychiatrists are vocationally registered with the New Zealand Medical Council which is one of the usual requirements for insurance to cover your claim. Some insurance companies do require that you have been referred by a GP. Please ring your insurance company to clarify prior to booking to avoid unexpected out-of-pocket costs.

Calling Ōtautahi Clinic

Despite Dr Allie having lots of psychiatry experience, you could still consider us a bit of a "start-up" clinic! This means that we still don't have a dedicated receptionist to answer the phone.

Dr Allie finds it easiest to reply to emails and always tries to do this as soon as she can, balancing the other work she does.

If you do call and she does not answer please do not worry, she is probably in consultation and trying to ensure she is paying careful attention to the person in front of her, and will listen to the voicemail when she can.

Do you offer talking therapy for my condition?

Currently we do not offer talking therapy. You may be after a clinical psychologist who usually has more extensive training in talking therapies.
